Acclaimed pianist/composer Andrea Keller & saxophonist/composer Tim Wilson’s live CD, Consider This, (recorded at a MJC performance) won the 2017 Australian Jazz ‘Bell’ Award for Best Australian Instrumental Album. The project was conceived in 2007 from a mutual respect and love for open, interactive music making, and a desire to explore original compositions and improvisations in an intimate duo format.
ATM15 Big Band are led by award winning composer Andrew Murray. For their new monthly residency at the Jazzlab, Andrew has invited top composers from across Australia to compose new works for the band, with complete freedom to experiment with the band and their writing however they wish. A no holds barred approach.
Co-led by saxophonist Rob Burke (tenor sax, bass clarinet) and piano master Tony Gould, with their rhythm team of bassist Nick Haywood (now based in Tasmania, Hobart) and drummer Tony Floyd, have played together for almost 20 years, and toured nationally and internationally. Their previous CD release Live at Bennetts Lane (2011) was their third release as a group (all on the Jazzhead label) and first live recording.
