Franklin 'Rites' - Album Launch (with special guest Nick Tsiavos)
Emerging Australian composer and bassist, Joseph Franklin, will be launching an album of original new music under the moniker, Franklin.
A collaboration with pianist Ollie McGill of The Cat Empire and featuring acclaimed saxophonist Jamie Oehlers, as well as one of the countries most in-demand drummers, Dave Beck. Charting a course through unique rhythms and harmonic movements, Rites is simultaneously accessible, layered and conceptually rich.
The album, Rites, will be launched tonight at The Jazzlab with a special guest performance by contrabass soloist Nick Tsiavos.
Rites will be available online and at independent record stores on April 2nd, 2018.

Nick Tsiavos is a bassist and composer whose work operates at the intersections of a number of cultural boundaries: from 6th century chant to contemporary minimalism and experimental improvisation.
